I applaud you for making a projection based on sense and reason. Moves will be made, yes, but this is about as accurate a projection as you can make on system players alone.

This is PURE FANTASY seeing as it is almost impossible to peg a rebuilding team's roster 2 years down the road. But here goes nothing.

    Sign Jacoby Ellsbury
Trade Javier Baez, Dan Vogelbach, Pierce Johnson for David Price
Cubs sign Scherzer during 2014/2015 offseason.
Trade Jorge Soler, Mike Olt, Christian Villanueva, and CJ Edwards for Giancarlo Stanton.

    1. Jacoby Ellsbury - LF
    2. Arismendy Alcantara -2B
    3. Starlin Castro - SS
    4. Kris Bryant - 3B
    5. Giancarlo Stanton - RF
    6. Anthony Rizzo - 1B
    7. Albert Almora - CF
    8. Wellington Castillo - C

    Starting Rotation:
    1. David Price
    2. Max Scherzer
    3. Jeff Samardzija
    4. Travis Wood
    5. Edwin Jackson

    Bullpen:
    Closer Arodys Viscaino
    Alberto Cabrera
    Blake Parker
    James Russell
    Kyuji Fujikawa
    Rob Zastryzny
    Kyle Hendricks
    Tyler Skulina

    Bench:
    OF Matt Szcszur
OF Junior Lake (hope he hits himself into a starting position, though)
    3B Luis Valbuena
    C No Idea.

Castro was always overrated and now its clear that he doesn't belong at SS and can't hit enough for any other position. Bully.

I thought it was a joke at first, but now I'm not sure.

Yeah I don't get that either. I know I come off sometimes as a guy that hates prospects, but it's posts like that that get me so annoyed with our fanbase and the MLB forum at times.

    For disclosure...

Starlin Castro (age 23): 630 MLB hits.
Arismendy Alcantara (age 21): 0 MLB hits.

He's got his work cut out for him.

The best part of this is the proof that having available resources to improve the major league club. We'll have $$$ to spend on free agents, prospects to promote, prospects to trade, and ML depth. Plus we are still in asset acquisition mode and a probable high draft pick next year and whether we trade Soriano, Gregg, Scherholz, Barney for more assets...not to mention a younger pipeline of top international prospects to restock the farm after trades and promotions in a few years.

Damn, you gotta give Thoyer some mad props on how their plan is shaping up!

I'm extremely happy with what our FO is doing. They are putting us in position to compete at a high level for awhile. I hope we are active in free agency this offseason

If you get David Price, two of the "big four" are gone.

No way CJ Edwards makes it into the rotation that quick, maybe 2015 call up.

Without the Price trade, I doubt the "big four" are still together. I think Baez gets traded for a young MLB talent when the Cubs become relevant (i.e Stanton). Even so that probably takes more than Baez, probably two of the 'big four."

    2. Starlin Castro (SS)
    3. Javier Baez (3B)
    4. Anthony Rizzo (1B)
    5. Jorge Soler (RF)
    6. Jacoby Ellsburry (CF) (I don't like it but I think it will happen)
    7. Wellington Castillo (C)
    8. Darwin Barney (2B)

    1. Matt Garza (I think we sign him back)
    2. Jeff Samardzija
    3. Travis Wood
    4. Edwin Jackson
    5. Kyle Hendricks (just cause haha)

Shark's getting traded in the off-season IMO. He's gonna ask for the moon and he's getting old. I think our FO would like to capitalize on his value. In the off-season everybody is a potential contender. We could really plunder a system. This isn't what I think should happen, but rather what I think will.

    Trading Samardzija would be dumb.

Yeah Baez will be traded if we get a guy like Price. Hes a guy we dont really need because of Castro and is a very good talent to garner a great player like Price for.

    Lucks on our side
