Noel could be the steal of the draft if he isn't #1. IMO, he never shown any weaknesses that has all these other players dropping, it's just the injury being the main concern. But say if we draft him and he isn't ready until mid-season, so what? That helps our tanking season.

Think of having a frontcourt of Wiggins/Horford/Noel 2 seasons from now.

+1! If the Hawks go pg in the top 5, JT's days are numbered. I like Lou off the bench and excepts and excels in that role, he's also from here. It would be very hard for me to trade him and sign JT to an ext. Lou makes about 5 mil, JT is going to get more than that. I think the only way Ferry trades Lou is to get or make room for a star.

Horford, Wiggins and Noel would be a dream come true.

I think he will be a very good player, I wouldn't mind him on the Hawks. I just think he's a reach for the top 5. Now If Ferry is sold on him, hey, do what it do baby. I just wouldn't take him that high.

Wiggins and Jabari Parker will be stars...When the times comes we better do whatever it takes to get one of them, so we can finally have a superstar to fill the arena.

I think they can gamble on give him a 1-year qualifying offer, but that could backfire if he has a big year next season and he'd be able to name his price and leave the Hawks in '14 with no way to retain him. The incentive for the Hawks is they would get to see what he's capable of with Bud for one full season before deciding if he's the long term answer.

Trading up just screams Trey Burke to me, and I'll be fine with that too, as we need an upgrade at PG.

Well, he has no offensive game. No post moves, outside shot, anything. And he'll be a power forward in the NBA, not big/heavy enough to play center, otherwise any team taking him is betting that he becomes a skinny Ben Wallace. That's a hell of a risk IMO, but that's why those scouts and GMs make the big bucks.

I don't know about him having none of those things. However he is very raw offensively. He's also very, very quick, and athletic and already gets it defensively. While it would be a risk, it's a star level risk. Skinny Ben Wallace? Never herd that comparison, the kid has more tools than ben ever had. While I do agree he'll have to play the 4 most nights this coming season and again he is very raw offensively, I think you may be under selling the kids talents a bit. If he's there when the Hawks move up, they should take him.

Is Burke your guy in this draft?

I don't really have a guy in this draft. I wanted Shabazz earlier in the year, prob him. But I wouldn't be sad if we didn't get him, and really would like other guys as well. Burke is just a player I see Ferry liking to move up in the top 5 for.

I was a big fan of McLemore during the season, but as the season progressed, I started to get the same reservations I had for Perry Jones III last season: He completely disappeared in big games when his team needed him most. Only thing I dislike more than a ballhog is a player who runs from pressure. That's why I started to like Burke, that kid wanted the ball in big spots (against other top PGs) and made big shots. Same for Oladipo: when Zeller wouldn't pull his skirt up for the Hoosiers, Victor was the one who never backed down.

Mclemore, Oladipo, Shabazz, are my 3 if we trade up. I have no interest in Noel because as Bravo said he's not a center. Plus his rawness offensively is more raw than I have seen with some guys, plus the knee of course. Oladipo is the guy I have my eye on.

Tanking for Wiggins is fine with me. But we need to have pieces in places to excel with him not just let him suffer as well as the team until he gets really good. Unless he is THAT good from the jump. Horford, Teague, and (Oladipo/Mohammed/Mclemore) would be a nice starting point.

I don't have the same reservations you guys have about Noel. He's not my top choice, but I see him, Ben, Shabazz, and MCW as the most talented players in the draft. All of them have their pluses and minuses, but IMHO their pluses out weigh their minuses. I have nothing against Burke, I just don't see him as a top 5 pick ( MCW shouldn't be either, but I like his overall talent more). He could turn out to be one of the better players from the draft because he is a heady player, I just don't see star potential. I wouldn't hate the pick, but you usually trade up to get a player you think has a chance to be a star.

Most mocks don't have him in the top 5, however many do have NO picking him at 6.
