Nuggets agree to $48M extension with Ty Lawson

    http://sports.yahoo.com/news/nba--nu...ty-lawson.html
The Denver Nuggets have reached agreement with point guard Ty Lawson on a four-year, $48 million contract extension, league sources told Yahoo! Sports.

Lawson, who turns 25 on Saturday, agreed to the extension one day before the NBA's deadline. He would have become a restricted free agent at the end of the season if he and the Nuggets hadn't come to terms.

Lawson averaged career highs of 16.4 points and 6.6 assists in 61 games for the Nuggets last season. He was the 18th overall pick in the 2009 NBA draft.

Lawson is better than Jrue Holiday and Holiday is looking for as much as he can get (some even say max) I honestly hope we can sign Holiday for cheaper than this. Solid deal for the future for the Nuggs.

Honestly if Lawson continues to improve as is expected this may turn out to be one of the best contracts in the entire NBA.

I heard Jrue was looking for $13.6m! Which is insane.

I think $12m is a bit much for Lawson, I mean thats almost 50% more than Dragic got, and about double what Lowry got. Even more than what Rondo makes. Also consider his stats may be a bit inflated playing in such a run and gun system, there is a bit of the "D'antoni effect" there in DEN.

But overall its not too bad, and he could outgrow the contract if he keeps improving.
