Should the Celtics be rebuilding around Rondo?

I keep hearing that the Celtics should start cleaning house meanwhile keeping Rondo, rebuilding around him. Is Rondo even capable of being the center piece of an offense? Thoughts?

With the right players, YES. They will need a dominant scorer for sure.

You cannot build around a player who can't shoot the ball particularly well...

I wouldn't. I think you could, but it would be a quicker rebuild to start from scratch, rather than pay him and try to find complimentary pieces.

At best he could be a #3, better as a #4. He'd be better in an up tempo style with some really efficient shooters in the #1, #2, and #3 slot.

He hits the floor hard a lot, not sure how long he'll last physically.

He's had emotional maturity issues going all the way back to his Freshman year in college thru this last summer.

He might have a place for the C's in the future, but if he's the centerpiece, it's a sub 20 win team.

The Celtics supporting cast around Rondo have looked BAD .. age has clearly caught up to them a lot quicker than I expected .. in my opinion they either have to rebuild around Rondo now or trade him and the "big 3" for youg players to build around .. they are not going anywhere I would be shocked if they even reach the ECF at this point

He's a 3rd or 4th option in terms of scoring the basketball. But in terms of running an offence, he is a number 1.

He's pretty much the only thing we could build around so I don't see why we'd get rid of him.

He needs to start hitting free throws. He's been getting to the line pretty much at will this year and he if he was hittin them consistently he could average 20-25 ppg

He can be the 2nd best or 1b player on the team overall. No way in ****s should he be a top 2 scorer but give him a team and he'll do work
