The Kobe Fine Spells Trouble for Kevin Garnett

    The precedence has been set.

A player, being caught on camera, for cursing and slurring has been fined for 100K.

The one player in this league that has gotten away with it throughout his entire tenure in the NBA has been Mr. Kevin Garnett.

Do you feel that now, KG will be under the microscope when it comes to him cursing etc.? Could he be now possibly fired anytime he curses?

    Discuss.

I'm pretty sure with all the F-bombs he drops for a span of 2-3 consecutive minutes, somewhere in there he's saying a gay slur or something relating to a cancer patient.

there is no proof that KG actually said cancer patient
Charlie could have made the whole thing up. probably didnt, but there is no way to prove that he didnt

and again, Kobe was only fined because the audio picked up the slur

You can't compare the F-bomb with gay slurs. David Stern takes gay slurs more seriously for a reason

Kobe makes 13 million This year after taxes. This is chump change for him. I think that by sending a 6 digit fine his way really was just a statement that gay slurs are not allowed. This is more embarrassing for Bryant than anything else.

it was a message sent by the league. No way they continue that crap

It had nothing to do with cursing, but it was solely because of gay slurs.

It doesn't. It was an isolated incident that has nothing to do with KG.

i think calling villanueva a cancer patient is much worse than saying ****ing ****** to a ref and being caught on camera...even kg spinning it saying he was cancerous is still terrible considering charlie having alopecia...kobe is just held to a higher standard
All truth passes through three stages. First, it is ridiculed. Second, it is violently opposed. Third, it is accepted as being self-evident.
