    Lent

    What are you giving up for Lent? I used to give up meat a kid, but I probably haven't given anything up for the last 7-8 years.

    I give up meat only on Friday's...I'm not sure what to give up, usually I gave up something that I didn't have much of but that defeats the whole purpose of it. Although the one time I tried giving up something I loved in pop, and then after 2 weeks I broke it and I've drinking it a more than before(which is a lot). I've been going to church more or at least trying to every week now down at school, but I don't know what to give up.

    Haha I didn't even know what Lent was until I looked it up a minute ago. Guess since I am Jewish I have no reason to know about these things. Good luck with Lent my christian friends!

    Is it for only 40 days that you have to give up on something? I don't really know about Lent, even though I'm smarter than the average bear.

    If it's only for 40 days, I think I can easily give up on alcohol.

    Thats what I'm thinking. Water is a delicious substitute.

    I've been thinking about doing meat again, but I don't know if I can go the full 40 without bacon. My mom does meat and dairy, no way i could ever do that...

    I never understood the point of Lent.... if something is bad enough to give up for 40 days then why not just give it up permanently? I'm sorry but I just never saw the logic in it.
