    Amare Stoudamire and rebounding

Do you guys consider Stoudamire to be a above average, average or below average rebounder?

I just want to get opinions of people from this forum

haha I picked above average by mistake

but I think he's below average, his rebounding is terrible.. for a guy that's so athletic, big and having his leaping ability I just don't see how he can average 8 rebounds on the Knicks.. the same team that David Lee was able to get 20 n 10

Below average? Averaging 8.5 rebounds per game isn't above average at all. He's in the top 20 in RPG

He's average at best. For his height and athletic ability however he should be averaging a lot more rebounds especially while playing under such a fast pace offense his entire career.

In regards to the rest of the league, you could say Amare is above average. He grabs ~14% of available rebounds compared to the league average of ~10%

If you look at it by PF or C only, Amare is below average

    PF Rebound Rate: 13.8%
    C Rebound Rate: 14.8%
    Amare: 13.2%

If you take out the players who don't average 20 mpg and have played less than 30 games, the positional averages go up and Amare looks even worse by comparison:

    PF Rebound Rate: 14.8%
    C Rebound Rate: 15.4%
    Amare: 13.2%

After watching that game last night, average at best...only reason he has as many as he does, is no one else on the team can rebound it.

His career rebound rate is 14.6% and he's had one exceptional year. I'd say he's average to below average, not taking into account his size and explosiveness.

he's been the same way throughout his career, he didn't become a different player simply over the offseason

terrible rebounding, no excuses when your the only rebounding option on your team (both Suns n Knicks) n only nabbing 8 average
