    My All Decade Team

With the last decade over, I thought to give my All Decade team for 2000-10. These are guys that played all 10 years.

    Point Guard : Jason Kidd

Kidd may have never been a great scorer, but who else can you say that about that dominated the game. The Nets were 26-56 in the 2000-01 season. The arrival of Kidd made them the best team in the East finishing 52-30 in 01-02. A year later, he brought the Nets to the Finals, but lost to the Lakers in 4. Kidd also did it on the defensive end earning First Team Defensive honors in 2001, 2002 and 2006. Second Team Defensive honors in 2000, 2003-05 and 2007.

    Shooting Guard : Kobe Bryant

I don't think there would be any kind of argument on which SG dominated the last decade. He led the Lakers to 5 Championships in 10 years. He was the finals MVP in 09 and 10. He was a First Team Defensive player for 8 of the 10 years as well. He was the scoring champ for 2 years.

    Small Forward : Paul Pierce

Pierce was a that superstar player without a ring, but that all changed towards the end of the decade with him winning it all in 2008 while taking the Finals MVP honors. An underestimated defender and a guy that made others around him better.

    Power Forward : Tim Duncan

Kobe Bryant has 5 titles in the last decade, but Duncan has 3 of the remaining 5. He also won another just before the decade in 1999. A First Team Defensive player for 7 of those years and second team in the other 3. He was the league's MVP in 2002 and 2003.

    Center: Shaquille O'Neal

In the last decade..he has 4 Rings and MVP honors in 2000. In his prime, he was just unstoppable, except from the free throw line.

Did u seriously put wade as 1b?
No one comes close to Kobe at the sg pos. Wade didn't really become a star till like 06 then he was injured alot from 07-09!! If anything ray allen should be second

Yes, seriously. I feel (and have backed it up exhaustively on this site, won't bother again here) that he's been the slightly better player of the two for the second half of the decade, including a Finals series performance/MVP that ranks among the greatest of all time. Think outside the terms of their teams performances (the casts of the two in the decade are not even remotely comparable). Kobe's longevity and overall dominance ranks him as the #1, but Wade absolutely belongs in the same sentence (looking at your screen name, obviously nobody can expect you to concede that).

Ray Allen is a fine choice for the bench, but he's not the #1 on a Finals winning team, and prime Wade is just flat out better than prime Ray.

Surprised it took so long for someone to bring that up

    Nash
    Kobe
    Pierce
    KG
Duncan (plays equally as much Center as PF, and has outplayed Shaq last 3-4 years)
