Yeah, I think 10 years is a bit too long, maybe 5 years.

No team is ten years away unless Donnie Walsh lives another ten years.

Where is the Oklahoma City Thunder?

And to answer the question, just a hunch

My first reaction is... this is a stupid thread. Every team can make changes within 10 years.

My next thought is... the best answer MUST be a team that is GOOD. Really GOOD. And will be good for at least 5 more years. BUT, not good enough to win a championship.

This way, they will always be close to winning, but not quite there. PLUS, they will not be bad enough to get a high draft pick and thus, lack a superstar talent that will put them over the top.

Also, if they are a smaller market, it helps. As the NBA will do whatever possible to keep those team from winning.

My realistic guess: the Utah Jazz. With Deron, they will be good for a long time. But not quite sure if they will get over the top. And if they do get close, I don't think the NBA want$ the Jazz to win it all.

My wishful thinking guess: the Lakers. I think that the level of elite teams just got better, and teams like Miami and the Thunder will get beat them in the next few years. After that, the length of their rebuilding will be key. But as we all know, the NBA will always find a way to help the Lakers get better quickly.

we already have a thread for poorly managed teams, and even that one will end up on thin ice I would guess

If you want the ultimate, you've got to be willing to pay the ultimate price. It's not tragic to die doing what you love.
