Alcantara has been also said to have cleared waivers. Tigers make spot for an extra player to add to the 40 man roster. Nick Burdi here we come.

interesting, never heard of the guy but looking up his numbers from last year (0.53 era in 17 IP at AA before tommy john), seems worth it, although he'd have to stay on the 25 man all year right?

I'm not sure. There is a really weird way that the Tigers can have him on the roster without taking a spot, but he isn't expected to play either all of 2018 or atleast half of the season.

Don't think it's going to be Nick Burdi imo. My guess is 2nd basemen Travis Demeritte from the Braves. Makes sense if we trade Kinsler.

Keep an eye on Erick Meija from the Dodgers. He originally played 2B/SS but was switched to the outfield. He'd make a heck of a utility guy who might claim and outfield spot down the road.

Yep, and a bunch more coming in Lugo, Castro, Paredes, and others. Second Base is one area I don't think we need to worry about.....along with catcher. We have three really good young catchers on their way up. Exciting times to me.

Imagine if Avila wasn't a deer in headlights in 2016. They could have gotten something for Victor & Miggy too. Maybe those offensive building blocks that we're missing.

A theoretical argument is kind of pointless....BUT...honestly what do you think could have been had for Victor? Or rather, what team do you think would have wanted him?

If I recall there were rumours linking both Victor & Cabrera to Boston at one point or another. Not sure how realistic that was...I can't recall the details or any compensation that was supposed to head our way.

I'd have to look but I think V-Mart has a no trade clause and I know Miggy does. Miggy's deal also made him un-tradable before the ink dried.
