Don't forget they fired Byrnes too! Seriously, firing Byrnes is the dumbest thing I've seen in a while, short of the Mets trading for Gary Matthews Jr.

Firing Byrnes was pretty dumb. More than anything, the D-Backs have been plagued by injuries and poor (nothing Byrnes should have foreseen) performances from some of their star players.

Because he's going to instill that bootcamp, gridiron, killer, never say die mentality to his players in much the same way that he did as a player for the Dodgers in 1988. Why do you suppose we won that year? That's what our own team is currently missing right now.

The bottom line is that the Dodgers had the opportunity to hire Gibby, but instead they decided to go with schmucks like Grady Little and Joe Torre who are incompetent managers and who have no fire inside of them.

Just watch Arizona take off now.

Exactly, Byrnes being fired is kind of in the middle with me because their are points for and against him being fired.
