Do You Think Pau Gasol is a Potential Future Hall of Famer?

He has 1 championship ring, going for #2, he has a rookie of the year award, led Spain to the World Championships in 2006, won the Silver Medal in the Beijing Olympics in 2008, and one of the greatest skilled big men in NBA history and helped put the Kobe Bryant/Phil Jackson-led Los Angeles Lakers over the top to an NBA Championship after the team mired in mediocrity for 3 seasons and with Andrew Bynum going down with the injury.

    dude, really?

If you want the ultimate, you've got to be willing to pay the ultimate price. It's not tragic to die doing what you love.

This isn't a thread to measure him up to any other player in the league, this is solely on his own accomplishments, not anyone else's.

I think with a few more years of success under his belt, he should seriously be considered to be inducted into the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame.

If he can help the Lakers win a couple more titles and if he continues to produce at this rate for the next four years. Even if he never wins a Finals MVP or MVP, he could still get in.

What if the Lakers face a suffocating defense like the Cavs (or Boston, but they used to be 2 yrs ago) in the Finals, and the Cavs do a good job defensively on Kobe where his ppg and fg% are not as high, but Pau capitalizes and plays out of his mind for 4 out of 7 games? And then he is named Finals MVP (Like Tony Parker was in 2007 and not Tim Duncan).

Then would you say that makes his case for HOF even stronger?
