    The Official Preseason Thread

Since the first game is today, we should have a thread for the entire preseason imo. Sly could you sticky this?

    Tonights lineup

    Christopher Higgins-Chris Drury-Ales Kotalik

    Evgeny Grachev-Artem Anisimov-Ryan Callahan

    Donald Brashear-Brian Boyle-P.A. Parenteau

    Dane Byers-Matt Maccarone-Enver Lisin

    Marc Staal-Matt Gilroy

    Michael Del Zotto-Dan Girardi

    Alexei Semenov-Mike Sauer

    G: Steve Valiquette, Matt Zaba

Excited to see Grachev, Anisimov, Gilroy, MDZ, Sauer, and Byers. Lets Go Rangers!!!!!

Pretty nice goal, little bit of a let down. I was just about to say MDZ looks a little lost on the PK but it's ok because he's not a defensive D and it hasn't cost us yet. But it did in the end.

Another penalty, this time to Boyle. Man is he a big boy out there, cripes. We send out Grachev-???-MDZ-Girardi. Interesting MDZ is getting significant playing time, then again look at our defense in the lineup. He got in Lucic's face, but it looked like he thought twice haha, smart kid.

Killed the penalty, neither team looked to have a clear advantage. Rangers are very agressive on the PK, but as one of the announcer's mentioned they haven't worked on it AT ALL.

Sorry if anyone is annoyed by me updating like this. I'm use to reading Braves games from updates if not GameCast and I figured I would update sporadically for those of us who can't see the game.

Gilroy and MDZ have looked good. MDZ hit a post. Looked very natural as a PP QB.

MDZ was epic. Sauer was solid. Gilroy was great in the offensive zone and terrible in his own zone. Grachev and Anisimov played very well. Grachev protects the puck very nicely.

I wasnt really listening too closely so dont quote me but something to the effect of this is the only time a team has any leverage. That goes along with what I had said. That next season Duby will have more leverage (arbitration rights, etc)

Thanks JetsFan, I got to watch the game on that link. Liked what i saw from MDZ, Grachev and Kotalik. Lisin, Anisimov and Grachev make an interesting third line combination, I wouldn't be surprised if Torts lets Grachev start the season in New York.
