Philadelphia Leads Series 1-0 Series Breakdown

    Game 1 Philadelphia 100 Orlando 98
    Game 2 - Wed. April 22, Philadelphia @ Orlando, 7 p.m., NBA-TV

ORLANDO, Fla. (AP)—Seldom-used Donyell Marshall’s new nickname is “secret weapon,” one his Philadelphia 76ers teammates greet with a laugh.

“If that’s what you call playing once in 10 games,” fellow Sixers reserve Kareem Rush joked.

For a team built around youth, Philadelphia leaned on aging veterans like Marshall to win the playoff opener against the Orlando Magic. The Sixers will likely need another strong performance from their bench if they have any chance for a repeat in Game 2 on Wednesday night.

A 15-year NBA veteran who has played sparingly this season, Marshall was perhaps the most important—and surprising—player during the Sixers’ rally from 18 points down to win Game 1. Marshall’s 11 points all came in the fourth quarter, including the tying 3-pointer in the final minute.

    Projected Starting Lineup

    PG - Rafer Alston
    SG - Courtney Lee
    SF - Hedo Turkoglu
    PF - Rashard Lewis
    C - Dwight Howard

    Projected Starting Lineup

    PG-Andre Miller
    SG-Willie Green
    SF-Andre Iguodala
    PF-Thaddeus Young
    C-Samuel Dalembert

I think that if we are gonna have any hope of winning this series we have to take this game. The Magic are gonna be pissed, and are probably gonna play at their highest level possible. If we can somehow withstand this game and pull out a win I can see Orlando being so demoralized that they just fall apart(mainly SVG).

    Go Sixers!!

It will be interesting to see how the Magic respond to that devastating loss. I'd expect them to come out with fury and deliver a KO punch in the first half, but, I also expected that from the Celtics in game 2, so we'll see.

If we win the game or atleast lose by a close one, I think we win this series. But Orlando should come out with the fire and beat us...

Shutting down Hedo is the key to victory. We'll also need another gret performance from Iggy as well as Andre Miller and Thad.

Dwight should get more touches this game, and Orlando HAS to tie up the series before going to Wachovia Center. But it won't be a hard task with the young Sixers squad. Should be another good game.

18 point comeback in the end of the game with a game winning shot by Iguodala in the face of Turkoglu, I almost fell asleep, that was so boring.

    Get real.

Haha at the person who said this was the most boring series. Are you sure you're in the right thread? Cleveland/Detroit thread is that way...
