It was a joke. A Reds fan came in here asking what it would take to get CQ.

so you're saying Dye is expendible because he hits .210 with risp with 2 out?

i don't know, almost 100 rbi's hitting behind Carlos Quentin and the year he had is pretty damn good. We have to be sure we get a real good centerfielder for him.

With CQ's OBP, he should have driven a lot more runs. He had almost as many AB's with runners on as with nobody on (I think like 300 vs. 260) , but all but 9 of his homers were solo shots.

He had Quentin in front of him. RBI's are a team depentant stats. Looking at the rate stats he did **** with RISP. I think clutch is pretty much a fluke of the memory(Crede)unless you have a giant sample size though.

Clutch does exist. Baseball is a state of mind. Some players are relaxed w/ runners on base, and others choke. JD is in the second category.

If not, then there is no such thing as "closers" just "good relievers" and Linebrink would be a good closer.

So lets just pick out one "stat" that he's not the greatest in and make that the reason to trade him. Sounds like BS to me.
