Ducks Sign Stu Bickel to Entry-Level Deal
The collegiate free agent defenseman signs a three-year entry-level contract with Anaheim
The Anaheim Ducks announced on Wednesday that they have signed collegiate free agent defenseman Stu Bickel to a three-year entry-level contract. Per club policy, financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Bickel, 21 (10/6/86), played in his freshman season at the University of Minnesota in 2007-08, collecting 1-6=7 points. The 6-4, 215-pound blueliner competed in each of the Gopher’s 45 contests while leading the club with 92 penalty minutes (PIM).
A native of Chanhassen, MN, Bickel appeared in 84 United States Hockey League (USHL) games over three seasons, earning 2-11=13 points and 260 PIM. He led the USHL in PIM during the 2006-07 regular season and helped lead the Sioux Falls Stampede to the 2007 Clark Cup championship. Bickel played his senior season of prep hockey at Eden Prairie High School in Eden Prairie, MN, finishing second on the club with 16-25=41 points in 28 games.
