    Dodgers Get Ronnie Belliard

The Nationals traded second baseman Ronnie Belliard to the Los Angeles Dodgers on Sunday afternoon for minor league pitcher Luis Garcia and a player to be named later. Garcia, at the time of the deal, was pitching for Class A Great Lakes of the Midwest League. I'll have more information on this within the hour. Just heading down to the clubhouse now, after the Nats' 2-1 loss to St. Louis.

This will be a good addition to our bench. His stats aren't all that great but he will be a backup and hopefully bring those numbers up in September. Here are his stats:

    AVG: .247
    RBI: 22
    HR: 5
    OPS: .673
    OBP: .297

    THOUGHTS?

BTW, i was joking about that platoon to replace Loney. I don't think that low of Loney.

nice to see Belliard going to a contender. Veteran presence, good pinch hitter, will put together some good at bats for LA down the stretch.

I think this is a good pickup, we didn't give up hardly anything and Belliard has been hitting like 320 the past two months.

I don't dislike Belliard at all and I know we have been trying to get him for a while, I just feel like its a random addition right now, but I'm definitely for it.

They did it out of jealousy of the Giants...he will become the mini-panda of LA.
Welcome! I think he should be the "KOALA!"

Is this alright with Belliard is God guy?
