Go Knicks!
I think this is a really good point. Most NBA teams are too impatient but if you have a talented core of players it really pays off to keep it together.
Here for the lulz as the kids say.
If Rose is here to take all of Austin River's minutes then I'm okay with it. I'm still gonna be a grumpy old man until Quickley takes Payton's starter minutes though.
Bingo.
Spot on.
If Quickley had Payton's minutes and Frank had Austin River's minutes, I think we would be better.
If nothing follows then yes it is a head scratcher.
On Mondays I like to provide a friendly reminder that the Knicks should not make any trades. Now that we already added Rose, I'm reversing positions. Get on the phone!
TRADE at least 2 of: ...
Yup.
First of all, I definitely agree about Thibs. I'm not ready to fire him or do anything crazy because I don't love his rotations. Second of all, I just hope you are right about Quickley....
Thats the problem. People keep saying this and its wrong. He is not getting his minutes off the bench and when Payton plays well 25% of the time he gets buried.
IQ can't get enough minutes now and we just brought in another rotation guard who won't be on the team next season.
Terrible.
Was anyone offering him close to the money? He declined $9 million player option with Pelicans to sign a $63 million dollar 3 year deal with us. How much of it was "he wanted NY" vs. "NY offered...
Yes a culture change can happen in 1 season. I definitely think if we ended the season with a top 5 defense and a winning record that people would make a big deal about the change in culture with...
There was so much sports talk about how the cultures of the Nets and Clippers have both shifted.
...
Ironically you picked two examples of how having a winning culture matters.
Two seasons ago everyone was really impressed with Kenny Atkinson and the Nets overachieving with their lackluster...
In the 90s I think you would be right that having that many scorers would mess up chemistry but teams play so fast now and scoring is so high that they can all still "get theirs" in the modern game. ...
I agree. He's earned his contract but to me I wish we were swinging for the fences of a lottery pick and $50 million in cap space. Instead we are going to be in NBA purgatory with a pick around #10...
Very true. Obi has time to prove he is worth it or not. I really don't know what is preventing me from embracing Randle but I really don't think he is the future of this future. However,...
First, I love ya but you gotta pump the breaks on that comparison.
Randle = 22ppg / 11rpg / 6apg on splits 47/38/81 for a TS% of 58% and a PER of 21
Jokic = 27ppg / 12rpg / 9apg on splits...
Not much else to say except I disagree. Teams score 120 now. Having 3 guys that can drop an efficient 30 is a luxury. The defense will get better with time and in the playoffs when these guys give...
To me, it all comes down to the organizations confidence in Obi Toppin. If we believe Obi Toppin is going to replace Randle's production then you have to let Randle go ASAP. If we are unsure about...
Fun watch.
Tyson got 1 with the Mavs.
Respectfully have to question that premise.
First of all, I don't want Quickley to come in and have to be 100% of the offense like he's James Harden on the Rockets. We want him to learn to play...
