Analyzing the offense after one week of play.

Now we’re a week into the season, and I hope...
Or maybe the conspiracy theorists are just wrong!
He took a full batting practice yesterday. Reported feeling fine. Do you honestly believe if there was anything more serious they would allow him...
Think golf.
Nick, You are sorely mistaken. I hoped for the best but was seriously skeptical re: the Kluber signing. To old with too many ???.
Certainly not his hit tool. I would say fielding (range, quickness) and particularly his throwing. I realize we lived with Jeter for many years and his range was below average, worse as he aged.

In my heart I agree completely. In my head I have doubt.
Based solely on reports I have read, Torres works hard on his D. At what point does the FO realize all the work ain't gonna fix the problem? Or are they resigned to live with his glove as a trade...
I agree the last option borders on absurd, upset the entire team to make a ridiculous accommodation that may not work! Plus your gazzillion dollar DH sits?
Interesting article on the Torres issue and possible outcomes / solutions. What say you PSD faithful. What is your solution at SS?
The Good:
Torres is a superb and sophisticated hitter. In 2018,...
I agree, Didi would have been the perfect short term solution. Problem.....He wanted more years and bigger money than the Yankees were willing to pay. Hal, embroiled in the midst of his "austerity...
Yep. Not the first time he's hearing this info. I've made the same point more than once.
I can't believe the MLBPA signed on. They must be planning to use it as leverage.
No argument, it was a bad throw. The throw was in the dirt, on a very clean one hop, most skilled 1B make the play. Torres confidence is shaken, he's thinking too much rather than reacting...
complete and totally.
Sorry guys can't hang this one on Torres. He is guilty of a balky glove, but not on this play that may have cost them. Bruce should have had it. It was a one hop that almost hit his glove.

:D: :hi5:
I guess in retrospect Girardi was right. Can you imagine what Billy Martin would have done? It might have been nuclear.
No argument here. As I said Yankees are facing a very difficult decision.
The new rule smacks of little league to me. Start the inning with a runner on 2B! I'm all for speeding up the game....but this just takes it too far. Tinkering with another fundamental element of the...
I agree. They will need to get depth from a few starters, otherwise the BP will suffer down the stretch. Sevy in the pen? Maybe. But as we have discussed in past, relievers have a different mind set...
I will agree Yankees are facing a difficult decision. At 30 years old do you invest major dollars given his history? BUT....do you trade a home grown talent and one of the premier players in the game...
Yep. You can see it on his face. The smile is gone.
Agree. All things considered good start after layoff and surgeries.
No argument. His injury history speaks for itself.
Should Yankees ship him out of town? That is the point to which I responded. If so what can they expect in return?
