I'd still be surprised if they do that. The BA and K% are butt ugly, but they like his defense, has a 15% BB%, .200 ISO, is hitting the ball hard (top 7% in HardHit%), and has a .332 wOBA/117 wRC+....

Another Giants-Mariners trade.

I think it has more to do with adding depth since they're carrying only two catchers on the 40 man roster at the moment. I've read he's been transitioning more to first base than catcher as well.
