Where is Davis playing this year, where is McNeil?
Nimmo was drafted as a CFer.
Only Smith played out of position and he had 0 drs.
My concern is that we don’t have any elite prospects ready to step in. Allan, Alvarez and Mauricio are more than a year away, our previous GM...
Defense has improved with McNeil at 2nd, Lindor at SS and McCann at catcher. The rest of the defense is the same.
Starting pitching is leaps and bounds better than last year.
And May improves...

Pete Alonso said last year’s September rebound helped teach him an important lesson overall: "I learned to give myself a little bit of grace.”

If the Mets keep Cano next year, I could see him getting a spot start at DH while continuing playing Dom in left and Pete at 1st.
In '86, Outside of Santana, it was a formidable lineup. Besides Santana, Carter had the lowest wRC+ at 115. Santana had a wRC+ of 49. Teufel had a 98. But Hernadez, Dykstra,Straw, Backman, Wilson...
I loved the '99 team. Felt Olerud was grossly underrated.
That's awesome to hear.

Kris Bryant said he received a text over the offseason that said "Welcome to the Mets." He called his agent and Hoyer, and quickly found out that it wasn't true....
2006 was a top heavy lineup.
In '86, the Mets had 3 players in the top 30 wOBA and ops Keith, Strawberry & Dykstra
In '06, The Mets had 2 players in the top 30 wOBA Wright & Beltran plus 3 in...

I love it
JD will have a few months to prove himself, because a mid season replacement will happen if he fails to do so.
Not since the '86 team.
I did, and I would do the same to Kelenic now doesn't mean he's not wrong.
I would build my lineup this way to start the season
Nimmo - CF
McNeil - 2B
Lindor - SS
Conforto - RF
Alonso - 1B
Smith - LF
McCann - C
Davis - 3B

He's not wrong.
And would look better in Orange and Blue.
I am more inclined to put Dombo in the 3 hole if what we saw the last two years was not an apparition.

Asked if the Mets would be scouting Yoenis Cespedes’ workout/showcase, Mets president Sandy Alderson responded, “We’re going to rent horses and ride to the workout.”
Lindor has a career wOBA of .351, Conforto has a career .358, Reyes is at .330
Hanley Rameriz and Troy Tulowitzki are probably better comps.
