Can anyone besides DJ get a clutch hit with men on base?
It would seem the answer to this question in a resounding "No!"
OK, make that DJ and Judge!
Nopd, another K-who coulda guessed!
Please ph for Higgy.m
K. Gee, what a surprise! Who could have figured that would happen?
I hope that I never see nor hear the name Joey Gallo unless it is in a story that states that Gallo has been traded, DFA'd, cut, released...well, you get the idea.
Well, of couse, after all, the Sun is really THAT big.
Oh, that is correct; I had forgotten about that 3-batter minimum rule that came in last year. All I can say is that its a good thing they had that gigantic lead when they brought him in.
With Peralta's ineffectiveness in the ninth, it's probably good that King did also pitch the eight so there were only 3 more outs left to get once King finished.
Nice job of hitting by Wisdom to get an insurance run in!
Not as short as I would have liked it to be. Two BB was enough for me. I do agree this was the time to give him a shot, but he just flunked out.
Get Chapman the F out of there!
At the risk of repeating myself, get him the F out of there!
At this point, I don't care if I ever see him in a Yankees uniform again.
Stantonhas been a one -man wrecking crew today--He's wrecked two Yanks scoring chances by hitting into DPs; luckily, he avoided doing that to a third by merely striking out!
Day, love your farm writeups , but its sometimes difficult to see where you move from one team to the next. Could you maybe either bold the team names or leave two blank lines between teams? Thanks.
Are Andujar and/or Florial out of options? Could that be part of Yanks reluctance to bring one or both up?
If you can't get anything for Gallo, DFA him and bring up Florial.
This would be a really deep dumpster dive. Can't hit anywhere near as good as Andujar and isn't a bit better defensively in either of or if.
As I said then, I was curious as to what the Yankees record was since he was acquired- nothing more, nothing less.
Plus, the longer Florial stays hot, the better he looks as an option to Gallo.

How long are the Yanks going to continue to play 8-on-9 as a lineup including Gallo has one complete zero in it. Maybe a game like this loss is worth it if it convinces Cashman to "**it or get off...
He's been a disaster defensively wherever Cubs have played him in the field. Oh, plus he hasn't hit well either. But other than that....
Maybe, but I am curious about our record since acquiring him.
No, there's a midfle ground-- have him start the 7th, but have a reliever up and warmed up. If one hitter getz s on, have a mound visit. The second a second batter gets on, pull him!
Whitey Ford didn't have a pitch that made you say "damn" either, but iirc, he won a whole bunch of games for the Yanks as a "crafty lefty".
As a minimum, Ross should have had a reliever up and ready for the start of the seventh, and when two ( or maybe even one)batter reached, take him out then.
It would be cheaper to just DFA him. That way if a team does sign him, they pay him the league minimum with the Cubs picking up the rest of his contractual salary .
