i'm not sure JVR's value is much higher now than it was before the season, despite his current production. he's still over 30, with 2 years on his contract after this one, and he's never been a true...
that's an impressively terrible goal for elliott to cough up.
hearing that friedman was claimed literally dropped my jaw. i could not imagine why a team would go out of their way for him...and then you reminded me about hextall. it's just hilarious. because of...
the teams that were hit the hardest by the VGK draft were the ones that protected 8 skaters instead of 10, or worked out a deal with VGK to protect whoever they wanted.
it's just not worth it.
...
if that happens, then good for him, but i can't imagine there's a huge market for 25 year old undersized puck moving defensemen with limited NHL experience and a long track record of mediocre...
i have no idea what sam morin is supposed to be doing when he's at forward, and i'm not sure that he's any more clued in than i am.
"1st regular season game without giroux or voracek since 2009"
i have to say, i am kind of excited to see sushko and kase in the lineup.
if they knew it was serious, they sure as hell didn't tell anyone. patrick was listed as "week to week" at the start of training camp last year.
yeah, but that's a problem that can't be solved...
...
depending on who has or has not tested positive, any of them could be taken off the list 2-3 hours before the game starts.
that doesn't mean they'd be in game shape, though. and speaking of game...
yup. i don't know if a bubble is absolutely necessary, but sending everyone back to canadia would definitely help.
york over caufield is still a defensible choice; it's not some kind of irredeemable, backbreaking mistake.
brink is a 2nd round pick, and that's a different conversation.
as for your take...
ghost is how you could make the cap work. and/or patrick. and/or gustafsson. and if there's a bigger deal to be made, then voracek and JVR.
i agree that we don't need laine ...yet. but i do think...
i guess it's possible that burke's knee-jerk meatheadedness will be able to balance out hextall's parasitic sedateness.
does hextall have any other children in college?
fletcher has been here for two calendar years and he has yet to make a signature move, or even really so much as attempt to make a dent in the roster he inherited.
it's about time for him to...
you're not wrong.
i'll just say that at some point, guys are gonna get hot, and things are going to look a lot better. until that happens, this team is just going to have to win ugly...and at...
because we are slow.
hayes and JVR are as slow as anyone in the league. voracek and giroux have lost their top end speed. lindblom and patrick are still getting their feel for the game back...
we're not playing well, BOS is a difficult matchup, the refs were horseshit, and our selke award winning center isn't in the lineup.
it's a long season. there are ups and downs.
oh for ****s sake
good. good.
this has been a "win ugly" team since the first day AV got here. it's just what they are; it's how they do.
oh for ****s sake
current makeup of the flyers roster:
acquired by bob clarke (1): giroux
acquired by paul holmgren (6): couturier, voracek, laughton, raffl, hagg, ghost (morin)
drafted by hextall (8): provorov,...
