I'm surprised we got anything for Groshans. Now we've got like 7 guys with sub-4 ERAs in the bullpen. No guarantee they keep it up, but that's at least not a travesty.
I feel like I'm the low man...
Huge haul for Washington. Gore is going to be special.
We need relievers now. Don't bother with position players.
I would have been happy with Castillo, but I agree we need BP arms. Still, we're one Manoah or Gausman injury away from having a VERY bad starting rotation.
There's a lot of pitching available. The Jays should be able to shop around for a good deal. I don't think I can recall a time when so many players with term have been rumoured to be on the block at...
Apparently the Marlins are having a fire sale on everyone not named Alcantara. Lopez, come on down!
I'm fine with Stripling as the 5th guy since teams only use 4 guys in the postseason anyway.
Gausman and Stripling are also pretty good. Agreed they need a guy to man the third spot.
I was looking at an image someone rendered of Soto in a Jays uniform and now I'm not sure that dude's 23.
Exactly right. Nobody wants another lost season. At this point it's too late for the division, and frankly that was the goal for this season.
I want Manoah to retire a Blue Jay.
Is Horwitz a legit prospect at this point? He checks a lot of boxes for what this team needs, outside of playing a redundant position at 1B.
I don't know. There have been a lot of really disappointing performances from our prospects so far. We'll have to see what the deadline brings. Maybe they'll do something really ballsy.
The problem is they also need pitching. Going for Soto probably means punting this season... which may be the best decision long term.
I'd trade 2 pitchers if it meant keeping Tiedemann. We could also flip Gurriel for specs to make it happen, assuming Washington doesn't want him.
Okay, Juan Soto is back on the market. Here's my proposal:
Gurriel, Moreno, Martinez, and a pitching prospect not named Tiedemann. Who says no?
Firing the manager when you're above .500 is a bad look, for sure. I like what I've seen from Schneider so far, though. The jays would have got shut out yesterday if they hadn't been so aggressive on...
I think they would have got more in the offseason. Atkins needs to stop waiting until mid-season to address needs. I mean, he's been burned this way multiple times. He should have unloaded all these...
Yeah, this team isn't going to win anything, but it's going to be a tough pill for the players to swallow if the team starts selling off assets at the deadline when they're still somehow above .500....
So... what's the t-minus to Gibby taking the reins again?
You know, at this point I'm pretty happy with the player development side of how this team is run... but my god what a missed opportunity in the offseason. As things stand, our big trade assets...
This has to be the dumbest use of the opener. Charlie should be cooked.
Kikuchi is cooked.
I'd be more optimistic if it wasn't only our pitching prospects killing it in the minors. Our hitters look bad.
Mike's gone full troll, saying Gausman hasn't been great.
At least he has the next seven years to figure it out...? Only things saving this rotation is that the Manoah/Gausman combo at the top is as formidable as any and Stripling is better than your usual...
