GM and HC search

My DC preference in order:

Fangio
Patrick Graham
Martindale

But all 3 are excellent. Basically I believe Graham is the perfect defensive complement to Daboll. He is innovative and adapts both in season and in game. I have no doubt he’s a future DC or HC star in this league:

Fangio happens to be very special as a defensive mind and the one guy I’d ask PG to move over for. Martindale is close behind and while I’d prefer PG if Martindale and Daboll have a connection that’s fine by me.

The OC search is even more fascinating. Dorsey would be incredible - still have a hard time seeing him not take the OC position with Bills and Allen. But I’m hopeful.

I know that this is a Giant forum but I found this interesting .

Randy Poles , the head of Player personnel of the Kansas City Chiefs, and someone who interviewed for GM for the Giants , was named GM of the Chicago Bears . He did not pick Eric Bieniemy for his head coach but instead selected Matt Eberfluss , a DC from the Colts.

Wonder if he was chosen as our GM , he made it to the finals , would Matt Eberfluss be the Giants new head coach ?

I agree with you . I would prefer Fangio over Graham , but if Graham came back it would be fine .

Really interesting. Graham has Yale ties to the Minny GM and I thought he would get the job.

But then the Harbaugh news came out. And now this.

Sounds like Minny will get Harbaugh to me. And if he doesn’t they will hire Graham.

I would guess that Fangio would end up in Minny with Harbough and get the "team back together" from their days in SF.

Fangio

Graham

Nothing against Graham, but I want a defense that is feared and has a swagger that matches the intensity.

New York Giants DC Pat Graham will be in Minnesota on Tuesday for his second interview with the Vikings. Michigan coach Jim Harbaugh will interview in Minnesota on Wednesday.

If he doesn't get the HC position, Giants new stuff is planning on keeping him as SC.

So if you want a new DC, him getting a head coaching job is the best option. Giants would get a third round conditional pick in 2023 and 2024 drafts.

If Harbaugh is really serious and not trying to get more money of Michigan , why would the Vikings gamble of a guy who has never been a HC before as against a proven NFL winner as a coach. Graham will be back as DC for the Giants .

I meant I have no doubt he's going to be viewed as a future star DC. I don't think he's quite there yet but he's well on his way if he doesn't get a HC job.

Daboll plus Pep = the best you can hope for to get something out of DJ and/or whoever comes after him.
