Only thing that makes me forget this is something like resigning Baez for 2B, and signing Seager, Correa, or Bryant for 3B.
Well if there is one thing we know, it’s how much can change from one year to the next.

Maeda made sense because he is not a back end guy and gives them depth not just for this year but incase if they lose both Syndergaard and Stroman.
Not a fan of Donaldson but at least he plays a position of need.
This team has a new owner that should be willing to add money with no problem.
Also they were not going to take in all that money, they just wanted the Twins to take more, so they were penny pinching again.

Maeda wasn’t available until late today, the Twins wanted the Mets to take on the whole Donaldson contract and give up prospects. The Mets ran out of time to make the deal work. That’s what I heard.Quote:
