Looking at Trade Simulator https://www.baseballtradevalues.com/trade-simulator/
A package of Ginn, Vientos and Palmer should be enough to land Bryant and Kimbrel.
If the Cubs want a major league ready player like Davis, I feel Davis and Ginn should get the trade done.
Davis has 3+ years of control left.
Davis IMO will have to go in any trade
The Mets need a mid rotation starter and probably a third baseman. The Cubs might be a match for both. However, if the Mets need to hook up with 2 teams to get the starter and the third baseman, it is possible that Davis goes in one of those trades but perhaps not in the same trade that brings the "new" third baseman back.
The beauty of getting the mid rotation starter is that Stroman an the "new" starter will be the 4 and 5 guys once Carrasco is back. Hopefully, Carrasco goes back into his expected #2 spot and Walker stays in his #3 spot.
If they can get one of the infielders that are being discussed (even if it's the Pirates second baseman), then McNeil has to play somewhere. Most likely that will be thirdbase.
Giving up Vientos AND Ginn for a rental at 3B sounds like bad business to me.
Especially when a combo of Villar/Davis should be at least league average.

The problem is Davis can't play the position and Villar isn't the type of impact offensive player the Mets need in this lineup. If this team wants to make a real run at the WS, they need to improve their offense. Would be nice to improve their bullpen too. I'm not sold we need a SP. I think they'll be fine the rest of the way with deGrom, Megill, Carrasco, Stroman, Walker, Stock and a returning Peterson, Gsellman, and hopefully Syndergaard.
Traded Alvarez, Conforto, Davis for Ohtani and Upton
Shotani Time!
