Heyman reports Dodgers and Padres in on Scherzer and Berrios
Wouldn't mind Berrios for some insurance, but what would it take?
I want Berrios bad still. I I’d probably do a package centered around Ginn for it. Don’t know if the twins would.

Apparently The Padres are close to a deal for Scherzer
The rumor I read (at least from mlbTR website) is the Twins are eager to move him as they have received packages that are above their expectation. So my guess is, he will cost a kings ransom (price of an ace) and he isn't worth that so I don't think the Mets will get him. And definitely don't think they should if he will cost a kings ransom

Sources: Mets continue to talk to the Twins about José Berrios.
Shortstop prospect Ronny Mauricio is a name has been discussed.
we wont be making big trades these teams are asking for too much probably gonna get baez/story and a rich hill kinda pitcher
I trust Martino much more. This Michael Mayer guy I feel like throws around a lot of BS. Unverified source like so many fake ones out there that frequently make obvious statements only like, Sources: Mets still heavily involved in talks for pitching. Mauricio's name has come up.
Like, yea no **** I'm sure just about all of their top 30 prospects names have come up at some point by now. This isn't news.
Man can the Mets ever get a GM that’s active but won’t sleep most of the time during the trade deadline or off season.
Typical Alderson type of deadline time when the Mets sit mostly while others make moves.
Not saying I want BVW who would of traded a lot prospects for guys who lasted 20 days here.

If the Padres get Scherzer and the price is too high for Berrios, I'd rather stand pat than trade any of our top prospects all the way down the list to Vientos for anyone that's gonna be a free agent after this year or next.
I don't even want Kimbrel if it costs Vientos or Ginn. He's gonna be 16 million to keep next year and his 2019 and 2020 numbers sucked, and we still may not be able to beat these NL West teams, plus MIL has some seriously good starting pitching and will be tough af in the playoffs too.
Walker was a clear sticky stuff user and has been awful since the crackdown. We just aren't as good as those other teams to mortgage the future for short term players.
Just checked minor league lineups for tonight. Alvarez, Mauricio, Baty, and Vientos all in their lineup.
Yankees pulled Pereira though. Rumor last night was he was gonna be in the Gallo deal. Maybe they are making another move.
Carlos Cortes out of the lineup for Binghamton. Anyone know if he is usually in there every day?
Looks like the Yankees are about to get Rizzo.

You know who would've been nice get with our horrible offense vs lefties? Wilmer Flores

Yanks making major moves and Mets still on talking stage.

That’s the big difference. Yankees didn’t need a 1B, but something better was available and they went and got it.
We should be looking at both Baez and Bryant to replace Conforto and Davis.

Include Ginn as a headliner with a package of over non top 10 prospects for Bryant, Baez, and Kimbrel. That is very doable.
Then flip Conforto for a rental RP to a contender.
I also can’t wait to find out the Yankees gave up nothing and the Cubs are paying the salaries of half their organization for the rest of the season.
