The Cubs will play it smart. They're going to piece out these guys individually to get the most bang for their buck. They probably trade everyone of their impending FA. Rentals don’t net top 100 prospects anymore and especially with guys who have high salaries, I do think the Mets have the capital to acquire those guys if they really want. Getting Bryant and attempting to extend him would be amazing. He can also play the outfield which would make it a lot easier to pass on Conforto if the Mets choose to extend one or the other.
