I know people say there isn’t a fit for Bryant but having multi-position guys on a roster where there’s a few question marks, is a great thing. He can play third and he can play the outfield. A RHB can spell whichever lefty is struggling against LHP (Conforto) and play virtually anywhere. He’s been a neutral defender in the outfield but not so great at third, still plenty of ABs for JD is Bryant is acquired and plenty for Villar/Guillorme until Lindor comes back.
I don’t want Escobar, I think he’s kind of redundant when we have Villar. I’d like to see a Bryant package with more players than just Bryant. Davies and Chafin being in there definitely comes to mind.
I think getting a surefire reliever should be the priority, as is a backend/innings eating SP, a 3B is a bit of a luxury at this point but I think the Mets need a good RHB regardless.
