I don't think its really because people on here want to get rid of Ginn. I think it more has to do with other teams going with a win now mentality and the Mets are sorta hanging back. I want them to win this year, but also at the same time don't want to give up every good prospect we have in case we don't win.

If BVW hadn't drained our farm system, we would have had more trade chips.

also if bvw didnt **** up this team we would have money to eat up instead we have to worry about cano next year.ill settle for gray and story or baez and davies id be happier with hendricks

If Sandy didn’t **** over this team, I’m sure Rosario, Gimenez, Wolf and Greene would be trade chips.

We also wouldn’t even need another pitcher if we had kept Matz.

It always is 20/20. Just go through the previous drafts and look who we could have had. Nimmo was our 1st round pick but had a lot of opportunities between then and when the Rangers picked Gallo. If you looked at who we picked in between those 2 picks, most didn't pan out.

For those in the NL East, anyone who doesn't win the division is not going to playoffs. The WC is going to come from mainly from the West, possibly 1 from Central depending on how things play out. Too many teams would have to implode for anyone in NL East to make the WC.

So for the Mets, Phillies, Braves, its a must win now to win the division.

I also see us linked to getting Story. Looked at his stats. He's ok defensively at SS but that is all he plays. Where are we going to put him?

I don't like his hitting outside of Coors. I think Coors has inflated his stats. I'd rather see us get someone else.

Record isn’t indicative of which team is better.

A team winning 95 games in a weak division/league is the same as a team winning 85 in a strong division/league.

Put the Mets in the AL Central and their record looks much different, same if you put the White Sox in the NL West.

Lots of teams just exploit weaker competition.

Brodie made a horrible trade for Cano but let's not pretend this was a phenomenal system before he took over. A lot of the guys we had already were promoted or were bust when he took over. We didn't have that much depth in the upper levels, which he made worst by trading those specific depth away. But he also is a big reason why our farm is top 10 in the league as his team did a great job drafting a bunch of the guys we currently have.

I know we didn't have a great farm system proir to BVW, just was saying we could have had some extra trade chips if he didn't get rid of them. Yes, I do agree he drafted good.
