Heard bryon Buxton may also be available. I'm conflicted with him because he has so much potential and is already a GG true center fielder. But so was Billy Hamilton so is it worth an overpay?
I know Buxton is the better player but I'm using example of cost because of potential

Buxton’s question isn’t potential, it’s health.
He’s a top 5-10 player when healthy…he’s just rarely healthy.
I’d pass on him, tbh. I think a super utility guy or an infielder is a more pressing need at the moment.
If one of the outfielders go down, I’m cool rolling with Pillar and Lee for a bit. It’s tough to envision at bats for Buxton with the way the roster is currently presented. It would be more of a move for the future, assuming Conforto walks.

Came to post that the Pads got Frazier.
I didn’t want him so it’s whatever. Go get a big name.

If the Padres don't win the division, their season can end with one WC game. They've given up a lot to get to this place.
Sort of like the Lindor/Carrasco trade, I get a feeling they're working on a BIG package deal that isn't terribly on the radar -- Bryant/Kimbrel or Hendricks? Story/Gray? Ramirez/Plesac or Quantrill? Suarez/Gray? Starting with the ASG, I've now heard 3 TV baseball analysts (Olney and Sherman were two, I believe) who have used "Mets" and "Story" in the same sentence.
For a package deal, I see them offering Davis, Mauricio, Vientos and a 4th player (probably a lower-level pitcher). I think that they only give up 2 STRONG prospects (like Mauricio and Vientos) if they're getting 2 players back. Again, like the Lindor/Carrasco deal.
I don't know, just a feeling ...

José Ramírez could be available at the @MLB trade deadline, with Cleveland losing tonight for the 5th time in 6 games and falling to .500. Ramírez's contract includes affordable team options for 2022 and 2023, so the club could wait until the offseason to move him. @MLBNetwork
Yes please.
