Oh. Well, I'd still say no if Mauricio is involved. Get someone with longer team control than rentals and a year and a half of a RP he sucked the previous two years. Such a waste of a top 100 prospect unless you win the WS this year with the rentals. I don't like it.
Try to include him into a bigger deal for someone like Matt Chapman.
Someone is going to overpay for Kimbrel. Not the Mets. Not that I hate the idea of adding him because he would make this bullpen pretty elite but the Mets won't pay the price other teams will. Davies would just be an innings eater as his peripheral stats suck. Bryant is the main piece. The issue there might be quite a few contending teams looking for a 3rd baseman/OF but the Mets need to add someone.
Chapman is a guy you could look to get in the offseason if the Mets dont add a 3rd baseman but the A's aren't trading him at the deadline. They are locked in a division race with the Astros.
Adam Frazier might be more attainable.

Probably but nothing impresses me about Frazier. A guy having a career year at age 29 sounds like a player who won't repeat those results. Not to mention, I don't want to bench McNeil. He's shown signs of hitting lately and I still think he's arguably their best hitter when going right.
I do not see the purpose of trading for Donaldson or for that matter Bryant and having to give up prospects. Our farm system has been bare for awhile and even now we do not have any legitimate pitching prospects.
I know Steve Cohen is wealthy and will spend but next year he will have 2 huge contracts in Cano and Lindor. Adding Donaldson large contract makes no sense. What are you going to have to pay for Stroman ? Are you going to let Syndergaard walk and then possibly look at the second coming of Zach Wheeler?
If you trade for Bryant , are you going to sign him for 3 years or just be giving up prospects for a 3 month rental? Are you not going to sign Conforto and play Bryant in RF. It makes no sense not to give Conforto a qualifying offer . What if he accepts it ?
If you are indeed willing to give up prospects why not wait for the off season when many more players could become available.
Bryant seems to be tailing off now and how much of a better hitter is he than JD Davis ? Better fielder yes.
Cubs in general suck.
Bryant is hitting at the same level as he has for most of his career, he’s a 130 wRC+ hitter with a pretty good batted ball profile.
I think a few tweaks and he could continue being an elite hitter.

I don't think it would or should cost Mauricio. Maybe Ginn but not Mauricio to get Bryant plus.

Agreed. I would even be hesitant to trade Ginn because our pitching is thin in the minors and I think Ginn could rise much like Woods-Richardson did into the top 100.
And is Bryant really going to be the difference maker in winning a WS this year vs a JD Davis/Villar combo?
MLB.com suggests Kris Bryant for Mark Vientos, Alex Ramirez, and Junior Santos.
