You say you don't like to hoard prospects if you can win now. Which prospects would you hoard? If you don't want to hoard prospects aren't you better to wait until the off season when many more players could be available in a trade.?

As I previously stated there really is no one out there right now. who can get us a championship .

Bryant is unquestionably a better player than Cespedes. Dude is even a better hitter for his career.

Cleveland will ask for that, but no chance anyone trades that type of prospect package. You're talking about 2 guys that might be a consensus top 20 prospect plus another in the top 100

FanGraphs now has Alvarez at 7, Baty at 18, and Allan 66.

scherzer/berrios would be some great pick ups i hope cohen eats up some cash so we dont give up our best prospects. id setter for a reliever and a utility player tho

I think what he means is, Cespedes had that incredible power ability to literally carry the offense and the team to wins. Bryant is definitely a better hitter, but if he's getting a lot of singles and doubles, we have to rely on the rest of our offense for runs.

Cespedes on the other hand was hitting bombs with men on base regularly which led to a lot of wins.

Also, people saying the Nats won't trade Scherzer to the Mets? Why not? He's a rental. Not like they would have to worry about playing against him for years to come.

If they are gonna sell this year and throw in the towel, If the Mets make the best offer, they'll take it.

He can play multiple positions. And doesn't hurt you defensively.

I hear you, but the power barrage Cespedes put on that year literally carried this team. KB would have to have an incredible two month span to carry us like Cespedes did. And honestly, Bryant's offense has been quite mediocre/bad for a good stretch of time now.

They also have the Mets as the favorites to land Max Scherzer at 3/1.

OK maybe you're just messing with me now. I am aware of all of this. That doesn't mean he carries a team offensively the way Cespedes did.

Cespedes had 17 homers and 44 rbi in 57 games with us in 2015. How often has Bryant had those numbers in a 57 game span? Maybe never, or maybe in his MVP season 5 years ago.

It's unlikely he carries us to wins the way Cespedes did in 2015. That's all.

Let's pretend we acquire both, with no other players coming back that are under control passed this year? What do you guess the prospect cost for those two ends up being?

Maybe something like Matthew Allan, Mark Vientos, Palmer, and another prospect.
