Where would we put him here? Or is this insurance in case we lose Conforto? I don't think he can play CF
left field or right field. Not saying he is a perfect fit, but this team needs to look at the trade market if some of these players aren't coming back.
Not a bad idea and people don't ever really complain about having "TOO MUCH DEPTH" but my worry/concern is that Peralta won't be cheap for "security" piece.
He's 32 this year. Conforto is 28. Conforto has a better fielding % in LF. Conforto has more career HR, but Peralta has more career triples. Peralta has a higher BA .287 vs Conforto .258 career wise.
I dunno, if Peralta were 28 as well, maybe. Peralta is owed 7.5 million this year and 7.5 million in 2022. Conforto is owed 12 million this year.
I don't think I would pull the trigger on this one. Peralta has played 3 seasons over 100 games out of 8 seasons. Not sure if due to being hurt or a 4th outfielder.
I'd prefer a good CF though.
I would like to trade for the rights to clone Jacob DeGrom.
Then we can clone him 24 times and have the best pitchers, hitters and fielders in the game.
June 7: Will D-backs make Marte available?
Sitting in last place in the National League West with a 21-40 record, the D-backs are already looking ahead to the Trade Deadline. Rival executives told FanSided’s Robert Murray that outfielder David Peralta is among the players Arizona has made available. The 33-year-old is owed $7.5 million in the final year of his contract next season. Veteran infielders Eduardo Escobar and Asdrúbal Cabrera, who both can become free agents after 2021, could also be available.
As Murray notes, the team’s most enticing trade chip is center fielder Ketel Marte, but it’s unclear if he’ll be put on the trade block. Marte is 27 years old, and Arizona could retain him through 2024 if it picks up his two team options for a combined $18 million ($8 million in ‘23 and $10 million in ‘24). He’s owed $8 million in 2022.
Since the beginning of 2019, Marte has produced a .325/.378/.554 (140 OPS+) slash line with 38 homers in 212 games, bouncing between second base and center field in that time.
Not sure what it would take but I am interested.
Mauricio/Baty/Alvarez to start

Therein lies the issue. If Nimmo or Conforto were healthy we would be ok in the corners. Smith and one of the of defensive specialists could handle LF and CF can be a combo of Pillar and others for the rest of the year.
What is the the big question - will either Nimmo or Conforto be able to play within the next month. The reports don't appear to be promising. If not, then we need to replace one of them. I don't think Conforto will sign with us after this season given his agent and the fact that they will try to get paid as if Conforto had a full year of service in 2021. You know Borass will want to use 2019 and 2020 as the normalized Conforto results. Let him see what he can get elsewhere, then maybe he comes back to us to see if we'll match or better the offer. But I think Nimmo needs to be penciled in as the RF for 2022.
I would rather spend more with BAL for Anthony Santander if he were available, or Cedric Mullins, but their price would like be off the charts right now.
What about Donaldson? He is owed quite a bit the next two years so he should be cheap prospect wise.
We need a quality starting pitcher and would love to get a CFer. But since I have no idea who any of the players are any more I have no suggestions
