Jose Peroza in Single A ball, is someone a team would want as a secondary piece.
Junior Santos is another prospect teams are going to want.
I would hate to lose Santos.

Dan Hayes of The Athletic backs up my earlier reporting that the Mets continue to have interest in Twins' starter José Berríos, but their asking price is very high.
Hayes mentions two top 100 or a top prospect and a pre-arb eligible big leaguer,
Twins do like Ronny Mauricio.
Just sign Hamels or trade for a rental SP. When guys start getting healthy we don't need all these SP's for the price of a good prospect, and I don't want to trade someone like Mauricio for Berrios who's probably gone after next season anyway.
Hamels cannot be worse than Eickoff
Agree on Hamels. Can't be punting any more games. They knew this stretch was coming, and that game 2 Sunday was a BP game.
However, I think they do need more help with starters and in the BP. We have too many unanswered questions about our pitchers health and endurance after a truncated 2020, and I believe that the team that overcompensates for pitching will have a decided edge.
We can't think that deGrom will come back and pitch into October without further incident.
We don't know what we're getting from Carrasco, from a health perspective and after a layoff.
We don't know if Syndergaard's arm will continue to have issues and, even if healthy, if he'll immediately have his old stuff and velocity.
We don't know how Walker will hold up as the innings pile up and the sticky stuff disappears.
I love Megill, dude has been a gift, but we now look at him as a solid rotation piece vs. a guy who has strung together a handful of impressive starts. I hope he continues but...We don't know the real Megill yet.
About the only guy that doesn't have question marks regarding health or durability is Stroman right now.
On top of this, we've asked the bullpen to pitch way too many innings, especially before the 5th. That will take a toll.
We need pitching.
I know it’ll never happen but I’d like to see the Mets get a 3 team trade going where they flip Conforto to a club like the Mariners, throw in a prospect or two, and get back somebody like Bryant from the Cubs.
In terms of “major league pre-arb players” I’m not really sure what the Mets have to offer. Maybe a team will take a liking to a guy like Blankenhorn, but I doubt it.
Players the Mets could conceivably trade off of the big league roster is kind of thin, Y. Diaz, JD, and Guillorme are the only guys that I think will be attractive to other clubs.
What would it take to get Starling Marte from the Marlins?

You could move Nimmo in LF or RF.
Gives you a right handed bat.
He is a FA after the year.

Starling Marte's last game with Miami in 2021 is tonight, if he plays in Baltimore. The Yankees, Giants and Astros are among teams interested. There is no thought of keeping Marte at all after the deadline from my intel. As expected.
if we are looking for a OF buxton would be nice he reminds me of grady sizemore dude is always injured but big game changer,
The more I think about it, the more cool I’d be with the Mets getting Baez IF they get another bat.
**** it, trade Mauricio, Ginn, JD, and Santos for Bryant, Baez, Kimbrel, and Davies.
