Enbiid flops for sure, but he does for good reason: At his size, if he doesn't sell contact that prevents him from shooting or effects his shot then it wouldn't be called. And frankly so many bigger guys face the same thing, and it's more a problem that rafs thing "oh I'm not going to call it because he didn't go down". People also forget that Hinkie literally brought in a coach that taught Embiid to fall in ways to protect his surgically repaired foot too.
The reason I get more annoyed at Trae Youngs flopping is because he doesn't need to flop at all. He's small. Any contact is really going to be visible anyways. When he gets bumped by Thybulle, who yes is bigger and strong, and ends up off course by 15-20 feet it's really laughable.
As for Embiid's "flopping" with the rip through that he and Harden (and now Young) does, that's more on the NBA than the player. #1 if you are a defender you should know not to defend with hands below your hips. #2, no one puts up a shot starting down at their knees. It should be an on the floor foul and no automatic shots.
Also, you do got to admit those three are great at the gamesmanship of them going to the FT line on every foul. They assume every foul is a shooting foul and really press the issue by having the rafs take them off the line.
