Encouraging loss.
Tonight's game will say a lot. Regardless of the chemistry, this team is good enough that they can compete against anyone if the effort and urgency is there. Win or lose won't matter so much as how we play will. If we get blown out it will mean we didn't come to play again and if that happens, after what has occurred in the last two games, it might be time to start looking ahead to next season. If they come out and fight, even if they lose, then there is still hope and we just need to figure some things out, but if it's a motivation issue there isn't anything to figure out and the season is already over.
I rarely lose faith on my team but the last couple games have been head scratching. Getting into play isn’t even a guarantee and when we get there if we play the way we are playing we could easily miss the playoffs. Hopefully this isn’t going to happen. Hopefully tonight game brings some urgency and we can finally get back on winning side
Here I go guys/girl.... And I've mentioned this in the past....
At the end of the day businesses will always put making money ahead of everything. And sometimes it can even be unethical. "The love (key word love) of money is the root of many evil things..." 1 Tim 6:10
Not saying I'm 100% convinced or anything like that, just saying it is on my mind a lot. NBA ratings were atrocious last play-offs. The NBA needed the Lakers in the Finals last season in hopes to increase ratings. Imagine if either the Clippers or Nuggets went to the Finals. The way the Clippers laid down to the Nuggets after convincingly being up 3-1 doesn't really sit well with me. To me it kinda looked like they threw that series. Why would they do that? If you were Kawhi would you really want to lose to LBJ? If it really was a choke job people really got over it fast cause no one talks about it.
Fast forward to this season, to me it really looks like we're just playing out the season like we already know we don't have a chance to win it. Like if it's already determined we aren't gonna win.
Just some thoughts....
Just so happens to be that I've been looking for a bridge....
In all seriousness though, when you get older you will look back and see things that the only way to explain them is money. The NBA is a "Good Ol Boys" business. There's really only 8-10 serious teams trying to win every year, the rest it's way more business then winning. And the NBA is way more profitable when all teams make as much money as possible. That's why when I see things I think it's more then just coincidence. Examples:
Phoenix is one of the least profitable teams in the NBA, Deandre Ayton goes to school at UA and now he ends up with Phoenix.
Cleveland another one of the NBAs least profitable teams get their home state boy in LBJ. They begin to make lots of money. LBJ leaves and they are now probably the least profitable team in the NBA, they end up getting the #1 pick in 3 times in a 4 year span.
New Orleans just can't make any money. And that was when they had CP3, CP3 gets traded to the Clippers and the following season and there's talk of having to move again. There's hope they can survive financially in NO because there's this kid coming into the league named Anthony Davis. They get the #1 and get the kid and there's no more talk of relocating. Now it's obvious AD is gone and NO being a financial burden is assured, instead of letting that happen there's a new sure fire superstar coming into the league named Zion. NO gets the #1 pick.
There's alot more examples but the main one that sticks out to me where there was a lot of money at stake was the 16/17 Lakers. Before season Vegas had them at +/- 24 and a half wins for the season. With 6 games to go we were at 20 wins, Vegas odds skyrocketed. We ended up winning 5 straight to get us to 25 wins. Dafuq?
