I'm not sure, he seems to putting his balls in play more often, seems to have better bat control, and doesn't strike out prematurely. Maybe he's a stud after all!

Jays woke up in Buffalo ready to pound the ball today.
...McGuire slapping it around pretty good
I think that makes 5 in a row. Red Sox seem to be coming back down to earth since they banned the sticky stuff. Tampa now in first, but are 3-7 in the past 10. Might be time they regress a bit too.
Matz on his way next week. Borucki soon to follow and Hatch looks ready in AAA. Might be a good time to go on a roll with these bats.
Interesting that some only come to post here when we're in a losing steak...
Boys were hitting the ball around today. Only been a couple games but I can't wait for George to join in soon.
haha.....I guess he is. He's slapping it all over the place too. He has quietly gone back to his 2018/2019 form and is now slashing .324/.367/.459! He is 10 for 17 with 3 doubles (.588/.588/.765 ) in the last 7 days. Over the last 14 days he is slashing .484/.500/.774 and over the last 28 days he is slashing .375/.400/.583. That is some serious slapping!!!
Lets put that into perspective for a second....
Vladdy over the last 28 days : .349/.436/.686
McGuire over the last 28 days: .375/.400/.583
Him, Gurriel and Cavan have really helped to lengthen this lineup over the past couple weeks.
Wouldnt that be something after being DFA'd a month ago? I'm skeptical. I'd expect he returns to norm at some point. I do wonder between he and Jansen who would be better to hold on to. I'm not convinced either are the catcher of the future with the kids we have coming up. I always assumed McGuire would be the first to go, but he has had stretches where the bat played a bit...
How many teams are now kicking themselves for not claiming McGuire when he went through waivers this year. this was a massive failure but many other GMs
At this point I prefer McGuire over Jansen just because he’s more solid defensively. I don’t think McGuire will keep this up, and may never do this again in his career, but that’s fine by me. If we are choosing between .200 catchers, give me the one with a better defensive track record. McGuire is a better contrast to Kirk too.
Jansen has gotta be feeling terrible. Doesn’t hit with lots of opportunity, then gets hurt and watches Reese take the starting job. Good on Reese for taking advantage of the opportunity. Hopefully he keeps it going.
