Bullpen had a rough week. Close games too. Hopefully they can win tomorrow. Such a tough division this year.

Oh I dont exepct a top 100 from Smoak or anything
But there wasnt much value in keeping him after his 2017 ASG over say a high draft pick 4 years aaway (ie like what we gave away to get Strip).
We’ve been through it a million times. You can say that sure, but it totally ignores the ENTIRE context of the situation. So I’m not gonna rehash it again and again. And again.
You can’t even be happy about the state of the team because you’re so infuriated that they didn’t do one or two things the way you wanted. It’s pretty funny. But what’s sad is that you want them to deal away a guy in the midst of an all star season at a major position of need no less, so they can make up for some narrative that you’ve created. If anything, they would learn from recent history and add to it quickly.
I didn't see the game and only looked at the box score. Why was Romano not used ? he last pitched on the 21st
Just realized we are playing them again today. Well maybe we can redeem and not get swept.
Thought it was Strip?
So do I and was goping he was the 5th starter instead of the BP days.
Didnt get to watch the 1st but was the plan to have Thornton only be an opener for 1 inning was he supposed to go like 3?
Stripling actualoly did well. Not sure if he was always intended to go 7 innings but no ER.
Vladdy ties it after Tellez gets a triple.
Vladdy takes HR lead.
This series has been fun. Hopefully Jays pull it off today.
Thats rough. Semien ties it but we give up 2 runs after.
Now get to face the Yankees. Jays got to shake this off.
What an ugly week. I am not happy with Montoyo.
Alek Manoah come on down. Looking forward to Wednesday.
Save us Manoah!
This past week has been a good example. Chatwood closing instead of Romano. Bergen for a Lefty match up. Last year no pitcher going past 6 innings or 3 times vs a lineup no matter the flow of the game. Heck, having Espinal try to bunt in the bottom of the 11th with 2 strikes and no outs...
I get the argument players need to execute while in the show, but managers also need to put them in the best situation to succeed. As much as I believe and follow analytics, I also believe in the flow of the game. Both philosophies don't have to be at odds and can be blended, which I've yet to see once.
and we don't know for sure what went into those decisions? A pitcher might get skipped/not used for various reasons
The May 23rd game?
Romano has had issues pitching on short rest, he pitched on May 20 and 21. It could be the reason Montoyo used Chatwood instead - he's been really good but was not missing bats so Bergen was brought in.
Bergen vs
Meadows (OPS .505 vs lefties and .920 vs righties)
Margot (OPS .665)
Brosseau (OPS .564)
Those look like numbers that Bergen should be able to handle.
Didn't we have the "best" bullpen just a short while ago?. The only thing that has changed is the inquiries - it's not a coincidence
Lets' see over the coming weeks...
Not really a fan of Charlie but did like his BP management for the most part. The past week somewhat sus but since it's a week Ill give more leeway.
Phelps done for the year with lat surgery.
