Just saw the Yankees, O's and Rays hitting .227 or under. Rough.
DJ's production was supposed to drop but he's hitting .100 less than last year.

Could be a tough week with A's and Astros.
Surprised at division leaders 1 month in.
Red Sox leading AL East when it was supposed to be Yankees/Rays/Jays all competing. Yankees should pick it up though. Rays always a wonder. Sox should drop but who knows.
Royals owning the Central when White Sox were supposed to be killing it. Their 2 big FA signings the past 2 years have been underperfoming this year. Hendriks ERA near 4 and Keuchel ERA near 5. It's early so Keuchel can improve (though he has 16k and 11 BB in 31 innings) but imagine signing Keuchel to a long term deal looking back in 2019. A lot of teams dodged that one.
AL West is owned by As. They always a surprise team but even Seattle is ahead of Angels and Houston.
NL East is a ******** lol. Mets are best team at .500. Braves hitters havent done anything since being up 3-1 in NLCS and Ozuna (who was probably due to a decline is hitting .100 less). I hope Nationals are sellers so Scherzer becomes available.
NL Central probably has the right leader in the Brewers when its all said and done but they have a negative run differential and they have 16 guys on the IL right now.
NL West led by Giants when LAD and Padres went and did their big moves last offseason lol. Their rotation is killing it. Too bad we missed out on Gausman. They have 2 former Jays doing well in Descalfani (was traded early on) and Sanchez (nice to see him healthy). They probably all due for a deline at some point but could be good rental options for us if we want to go down that route.
Jays 2nd in era in the AL at 3.41, Yankees at 3.02. Only six teams with an OPS over .700 which I found a little shocking, Jays are one at .716, Yankees at .694. We're 1 1/2 out of 1st, 1/2 back of a wild card, considering all of the injuries, Semien, Biggio, Jansen, tellez all off to poor starts, it's surprising to be where we are imo. We've essentially had 2 1/2 starters so far, but our bull pen is saving our as_ es up to this point. Let's hope we get fully healthy, everyone performs to their capabilities and we get get on a great run.
Half of our offense has been bad but most should be able to pick it up and make up for the expected drop in pitching as the season goes
Health is key thing but we have a bunch of guys with injury history or havent played a full year. If we are relatively gealthy then we should be AL East champs or the WC.
Kirk is going to miss more than 10 days, per Montoyo
Jansen all of a sudden becomes more valuable and I would assume Adams gets the call since he's already at the alternate site.
Adams was called up over the weekend already.
Rough 5 innings for Matz.
ERA now 4.78 after a rough few games. I'll give him benefit of the doubt and say he can bring that down to 3.80 ERA within the next few weeks.
Umpire with some terrible strike calls.
Good game. Tough loss. Hopefully bounce back tomorrow
The Matz blow-up. Not good.
Take the good with the bad: Ray is pitching great. I'm eating crow.
This rotation really is ugly without Ryu in it.
Tough luck for Matz. An unexpected 3 run HR to Josh Harrison (even when he is hot) ....and then a 2 run homer from a struggling Piscotty hitting down in the order (who I still can't believe produced a HR with the swing he took on that baseball). Laureano's was a bomb and not a surprise, but those other 2 really hurt. He isn't going to be a #1, but he could be a darn good #5 (....which is what they are paying him to be) and is pitching like a good #3.
It's ugly right now for sure, but as soon as they can get Ryu, Pearson and SWR/Manoah into the mix it could be really, really good. Right now I am very excited for this team in the second half. They have a good mix of young guys and vets who know how to be successful over a 6 month marathon. If they go out and add at the deadline they could have a scary and very complete 26 man roster.
Opportunity here for Kay. He needs to throw strikes and show much better command of his pitches
Gotta keep the ball down bud.
Not a good start Kay.
Couldn’t hit a spot and left everything up. Not a good recipe.
Man, it doesn’t matter if they throw 98 or 90, Danny’s late on everything lol.
Bad game at the plate for everyone. Feel like the ump wasn’t great but no way Irvin should go 8 innings with 9ks against our lineup.
That was disappointing. A’s pitching put on a clinic. Jays offense better wake up tomorrow.
Jays back to Buffalo in June. Offense should pick up once we get there.
I'm not sure it says good things about our club that they can only hit in minor league bandboxes. The offense has been real hit-or-miss so far.
It is a bit sus so something I may hold against some players (ie Tellez, etc).
I disagree, the boys are hitting a lot of 400'+ home runs, which would be out in almost all ball parks. They haven't had they're full line up together and have had 2 1/2 starters so far. All things considered .500 isn't horrible, although I expected better.
We've played 17 road games, and only 11 home games, by the time we finish this road trip we'll have 25 road games in the books. That seems like a weird schedule imbalance to me.
Pearson should be up soon, and I hope Manoah soon after. We need these guys in the rotation, not, Kay, Roark types. Get healthy, and get on a roll.
Springer to the DL, Adams sent to AAA, and McGuire added.
Merryweather to 60 day IL.
