Dolis scares me.
Bad throw by Biggio. That should have been routine.
Nice insurance runs by Kirk and Girch there.
Nice win.
I remember when we had JPA and he would hit around .200 and I thought how terrible that was. Never thought we’d have a catcher that hit worse. And I’m a big fan of Jansen, but batting around .100 is unacceptable. He’s gotta figure it out or they gotta just give it to Kirk.
Curse of the BJ’s. When our pitching is expected to do well, our hitting breaks out and the pitching struggles. When our hitting is expected to be good, it struggles and we have a bunch of pitching breakouts.
We have only had both doing well at the same time once in the last 20 years it feels like, and that was because we added a ton of pitchers at the deadline.
How do the Rays get away with playing games in this poo hole they call a baseball park?
How long until Semien and Bichette switch positions?
Couldnt watch but nice win.
There's little room for error at SS. It the most demanding positions on the field- next to Catcher. Do we see Semien at SS today? or maybe Espinal? either way the left side of the infield needs to be fixed and I don't want to see Biggio at 3B ever again.
I'm fine giving Cavan and Bichette until the end of May to evaluate them defensively.
I have more faith in Biggio at third than Bo at SS. Don't know what's happened with Cavan. His throws looked great in Spring Training.
Ya Biggio just doesn't have the arm for across the diamond.
Ray dealing today. 5k and 0BB. A lot different than last start.
Nice relay/tag by Bo/Kirk there. Romano looking off at the moment.
I've been unimpressed with Biggio this season. He's never had a strong bat, but right now he can't even catch up with or barrel most fastballs he's been seeing which is extremely problematic. If he can't improve his timing, he will be a super sub/bench bat and have others like Martin/Groshans/FA pass him by.
Watching him play 3B, he looks lost and am starting to wonder if he has the yips or if it's just because his arm isnt strong enough to throw across the diamond. I've been wondering if Vladdy at 3B would be an improvement over him.
Bo looks to be destined to 2B. Why not flip Semien with him? Will improve our D short term and might get more consistency from Semien's bat.
I'm fine with Bo as SS. Defense not there but his offense fine wnoigh I can live with it.
Cavan should be at 2B though.
Simien at 3B and replaced by Grosh next year (assuming we don't trade him).
Martin to CF.
why was Castro removed?
Why not ease Romano back in instead of throwing him right into a high leverage situation
Tough loss especially since Ray did well.
Ray looked really good. That FB was humming
6 IP 3 ER = QS
Ryu/Matz/Ray that's a pretty good top end of the rotation
Ryu vs Patino (note Patino is a stud in the making)
