Atkins has proven he can do something’s and that’s valuable. I just don’t think he’s a top tier GM. I would be salivating if I was trading with him, or interviewing him. I think Atkins will have a long career in baseball, but more likely as an assistant GM or some role that doesn’t have him as the frontman.
He has a decent baseball mind, but can’t hit the high notes to be a lead singer. He be perfect in a producer role.
They are ready right now. They need two relievers that’s it. Sitting back and waiting for the future would be a terrible mistake. Pushing forward when the time is right (now) is the right thing to do.Quote:
