Or it could be that despite all those flaws you admit to him having, your undying support of him has never wavered. Talking about proudly flying MAGA material if you were an American citizen doesn't help change that point of view either. Whatever the case is, these faults were obvious to anyone paying attention long before Trump was president. He just had a larger more consistent audience to amp up that behavior when he became president.

Don't forget that the DC insurrection wasn't their only break in to a capitol building. Their attempts to kidnap the Michigan governor and armed break in to that building were a trial run of sorts for what they did on 1/6.

They had the opportunity to be on the committee. They voted no in the formation of a bipartisan committee where they got to name half the nominees and even what amounts to veto power on subpoenas.

They made a choice and it should include consequences to that choice.
