I get what you're saying but I don't believe that it is an inherently bad thing for a president (or presidential candidate) not to be able to sucker his followers in to praising them and blindly following them like they're some sort of demigod via lowest common denominator simpleton slogans and such.

No doubt but a lot of Republicans love sound bytes, they love slogans, they love America first material. That's a unifying part of their philosophy that Democrats don't have. That's why their ability to build this groundswell of support is not matched by the left. Democrats do better at fundraising. Republicans do better at getting people to vote for their candidate.

This past presidential election won't be indicative of what happens in the future as I am sure you are aware. You're not going to see 82 million people vote for the next Democratic president.

However, Republicans can get 70+ million people to vote for their next presidential candidate if they present a strong enough opponent.

That's just it. At this point, presumably Kamala Harris has the inside track for the Democratic nomination whereas (IF we can assume it's not Trump) what opponent can the Republicans come up with?

Trump asked Russia to interfere with the election. Did you forget that? Trump even admitted in 2018 that some country may have meddled in election results.

The big difference is Hilary wasn't on Twitter everyday for months telling her base that the election was stolen from her, nor did any of her supporters act on those beliefs if they had them. Personal accountability is a thing. Trump knew his base, he knew how supportive they were, yet he continued on a campaign of almost constant misinformation.

Look, clearly you don't understand American politics either. If Trump bows out when he was supposed to, his base isn't there on January 6th protesting by the thousands and the subsequent rioting doesn't happen. He's responsible for those things because he kept pushing the same narrative over, over and over again. Just because he wasn't convicted of such doesn't mean a damn thing. Its all partisan politics and a constitution that needs amending that saved his ***.

It’s not even bows out, just dont hold that speech/rally and tell them to March down to the capitol and fight to not let the election get stolen.

Once there is clearly an issue take action, look at his reported responses once it was happening. If you didn’t think this was his intent wouldn’t he have done something instead of saying “I guess people are upset” or whatever?

It’s months of riling up the base with lies, asking people to help him find votes, holding that speech/rally the day and time it was and telling them to march to the capital to stop the made up “steal” and “fight” then watching it unfold and doing nothing about it for a good amount of time with his reported conversations as well. Everyone was asking about how/why etc it is the capitol look at the response this time and the answer is pretty clear it was allowed/expected.
