Interestingly (and apropos of this discussion of characters), the term “dunce” is derived from a real person (John Duns Scotus). He was an accomplished 13th century philosopher, scholar, and theologian, but his ideas were much maligned during the later Reformation, and his followers — mostly catholics — were thus branded by the protestant powers-that-be as idiots.

I’m willing to listen but the problem is that we have the entire primetime lineup at Fox that has used the word to describe someone. So if it’s racist, that means that the admission of Fox being racist would have to occur.

He won't explain it, because he can't, because there is no explanation. He throw some more insults around, eventually he'll start playing thread police and talk about staying on topic, but at no point in all of it will there be an explanation.
