Because actual instances tend to go in their direction. But the fictional ones they make up go whatever way they want. It's a classic case of projection.

I have two young girls. Black girls, for that matter, who are more likely to be victims of sex trafficking. That stuff is always a concern and on the forefront of my mind. To imply that not knowing the details of the Duggar story makes one indifferent is just dumb.
