It's not education that is the problem. It is how these idiot instructors, professors etc and giving kids this so called. education. So of these kids coming out of college are totally clueless, but , of course, woke (whatever that means).

Oh right. Only the lib dems are intelligent. The rest of us are all hanging around with those backwoods goobers from Deliverance.
And i never said that these people do not have knowledge. The question becomes what do you do with that knowledge.
Going to college gives you that "knowledge." Then what??? A lot of these kids are clueless coming out of college with all that "knowledge."And they wonder why they can't get jobs. Some teacher up in MA was passing on the "knowledge" she had about banning "The Odyssey." Well, maybe she meant she was against buying Honda minivans. Hard to tell with some of these educators.
I went to college too. Had about 50 instructors/professors over the years. How come I learned far more from instructors who were not "professors" but were teaching because they liked teaching or needed extra money. The professors were way to busy trying to impress us with how learned they were (yes, even way back then). There were a couple of impressive professors but for the most part the part time lecturers were far superior. The reason why……the lecturers had actually done something, been out in the real world and were not institutionalized in academia for their entire lives.
I've found that when you get educators at the doctoral level…they're pretty impressive and worth every penny they get. High school, community colleges, junior colleges, a lot of regular colleges……they are a dime a dozen. Blowhards with tenure. Some good ones to be sure but on thew whole…no.
Capitalism is dying. The foundation has rotted away. If populism is rising the inevitable question is if it will be left or right populism. The left has capped their success in that the DNC beat them down and other than sign holding and online petition signing, they won’t really act. The right however has shown their willingness to March the streets armed and invade state houses. They’ve also successfully filtered their propaganda to a couple outlets and will unite for the sake of a win rather than turn on each other.
We should be less worried about trump at this point as he nears the end of his power and be more worried about what the next generation is that manifests.
If you want to be less worried about the Trumpster (and who doesn't), you will need to get the media to stop paying attention to him. He won't have a pulpit in two weeks unless someone gives it to him. I don't think the repub party will…they would like him to just go away so they can lay some new foundations.
He'll try to stick around and be relevant, but that doesn't mean that the public and the media have to pay attention to him.
I feel bad for his post presidential Secret Service detail.
Absolutely. That’s been my complaint since the GOP primary in 2016. The first issue was allowing so many contenders to water down the field of responsible voters. The second was how much attention was given to him when he should have been ignored (like they did in 2000 with Trumps run).
He’s currently sabotaging Biden in every way imaginable. He’s leaving behind an ungovernable country so he can maintain his phony image to supporters from Mar a Lago (or Turnberry to avoid arrest) and become a political kingmaker for 2024. Fortunately the Georgia results show how damaging he is.
Thats not even close to what I am saying.
I was a conservative back in college and had absolutely no problem learning from liberal professors at the incredibly liberal school I attended. I learned far more in college than any education before that, even though I disagreed with many things.
I'm talking at a more basic things. Things everyone would have access to regardless of college. Things that should be taught in high school and earlier. Things like Media literacy, writing and comprehension skills, general life skills outside the realm of academia, real sex ed, not teaching competing history lessons depending on the location you grow up in, making sure teenagers are both aware of and know how to properly utilize their constitutional rights.
And all that would still probably only have some effect. Like I said, our culture does not value knowledge or free thinking. And I dont know how you got about changing such an engrained culture.
