I'd want more than just a young pitcher with 2 years of control for Kirk too. As for Moreno, he is clearly not the same hitter Kirk is. But his eye at the plate and bat to ball skills will make him a better than average catcher on offense. With the elite defensive tools, that is a potential star in my book. The power isn't there, but everything else is. I respect the Kirk argument though. I think it is a case of what you prefer.Quote:

Honestly unless you’re getting back a game changing talent at a position of need, you don’t trade Kirk. Kirk+Moreno has the potential to go down as one of the best catching tandems of all time. We could be looking back 20 years from now and saying “man I can’t believe we had both of them at the same time so early in their careers”. Kirk is on pace for that type of career, the question is can moreno reach that level.
If you aren’t getting a premier talent back then you are probably best off plugging a hole with a Jansen trade.
