He assembled a team that won 95 games, won the division title and made the ALCS.
To be the 2nd best GM of the Jays you need to beat that.
So now I’d say it’s official. Plus they have a core for sustained success. That Berrios contract though.
Yea now it's fair to make it official (though wpuld be disappointing if we dont win a game. But thats on the players).
Step into the light my friends.
I’m just messing around. The foundation that’s been built is rock solid and the vets that have been added are great. Well, aside from Berrios so far. At this point I’m hoping it’s something mental with him this season. It’s baffling to see a pitcher who was the epitome of consistency just fall off like he has. I’d put him on the playoff roster but would hope he wouldn’t be needed until the ALCS.
2nd post season berth in the last 3 seasons. Last Jays GM to accomplish that feat was the GOAT.
Solid team returning next year.
Imagine this years team with a good ryu and previous berrios. 100 win team
I will say that the bar for the 2nd best GM is not very high, all it takes is a deep post season run and/or winning more than 93 games in a season and then he's in.
If the Jays win 100+ games, then Ross is 2nd best for sure (for the Jays).
But to AA's credit, he won a World Series for the Braves and his team has easily won more than the Jays so i'd put AA over Ross overall.
The Answer to this question is no so far btw.
Potential is there for this core group, but not yet, AA's team got past the first round.
Their performance this playoffs doesnt affect how I view them and think Atkins still passed AA with a playoff appearance but I could understand if they didnt view Atkins ahead of AA after today.
Its lesser value than the ALDS, but yea, its the playoffs.
Its not like 2020 (which I dont hold any value in for that 1st round).
You're joking right? They embarrassed themselves out of the Wildcard series. And it's Shatkins fault. This is also the second season where the team suffered from Shatkins making the completely wrong moves in the offseason leading up to the season. Give your head a shake, man!
